Public service announcement : If you choose not to vote, then do not complain about what the councillors do, or don't do. Your choice, having a vote,  use it, or lose it.

The inspiration for that quote came from the news that vote returns were slow and few, predicting a very low turn out, and I was reminded of the way low voter engagement is a symptom of a declining democracy. And we don't want that.

As for IQs I have been so excited by the regular appearance of children who are using their genius level - 160 and above - IQs out there in the world to do amazing things. And lots of them are female. Evolution maybe?

Everyone needs to focus on what is being said, NOT who is saying it.  This is a discussion board, not a bitch and whine about the left or right board.  Please use reasoned argument to make and refute claims, not insults and references to personality traits.

imagine if the previous administration was still in pawer throwing taxpayers money around like confetti, that money has to be paid back

no wonder ardern had nothing left in the tank she wasted it all, she’s doing ok now though eh, not worried about all the tamarikis in poverdy

Yes, Labour did what was necessary at the time and had already put the brakes on the spending toward the end of their term once the worst of covid was over.

National however reacted completely contradictory to normal economic theory by cutting costs to the bone.  Normally governments will spend up in a recession to prop up the economy, that's when NZ has historically had big infrastructure projects completed, but national chose to make things worse by laying off 1000s of staff and slashing spending, making the recession that much worse...

I do now always vote always,every time.

On account of the one & only time I failed to vote, National got in.... Rolleyes
