You can never have enough...
Morning everyone

Madam took me to the bedroom to show me the sun lol..

But I secretly think she was showing me the weeds behind the spiky succulent things in the garden. So When I hang the washing out Ill get in and remove them. They are really easy to move, avoiding the spikes is the main part.

Running late but who cares lol...

Then I will do my dishes that I didn't do yesterday lol..

Meant to tell you Dianne and I were looking at the full legs of lamb on Thursday. $90 thank you very much.. Thats rediculous. How does a big family get on it might only do one meal and maybe the odd sandwich. There was 7 in our house and I know there wasn't much left when we had one. They had four quarter roasts too $50ish. There's more bone and less meat in those. We used to get those for $5 when we were in Taranaki.

I dont know how people feed a family these days.. Maybe that's why Maccas works out cheaper.

Im cancelling my colonoscopy etc until Ive spoken to my Dr and even then it wont happen until after Ive had my tummy surgery cos I cannot imagine they will want to do surgery on what could be massively bruised tummy. I am pretty good at doing my own shots, but there's also the chance it bruises massively.. And unless there is a bloody good reason for it, it wont happen.. Bridging etc can be scary and I dont wish to do that anymore than needed.

Have a fab day all

Popeye - our local paknslave has a short dated meat bin in one of the chillers, and there are sometimes bargains to be had there. Yesterday there was a leg of lamb for $24, best before today.
I do have other cameras!

You have to be quick, and its a 15 minute trip to my "Local" so I only go once a week. then not every week.

I am lucky that I buy marked down fish in our local new World tho. But I need to use some up before I buy more.

I wish our Pak n Save (Hamilton) had that, Praktica. They don't even have the seconds vegie trolley anymore. I used to buy the bruised fruit for the waxeyes. Now they share the 'good stuff' with us Heart

I'm fairly rubbish with flowers apart from spring flowers, violets thst grow like weeds & one rose.

Bought myself another pair of harem pants for summer, hoping that the gorgeous sea green really is that colour & not a horrible shade of green; they turned up & yep, they are indeed so quite pleased, shoiuld have enough to cope with warmer weather now.

Did a bit more weeding & gave that damned ivy anothet trim back.

Seriously Popeye - $90 for a leg of lamb! Unbelievable,in this country. But glad I no longer eat red meat.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

Afternoon (just) everyone
The birthday sleepover was a loved by all. Picked up a very tired girl at 12 and shes been chilling ever since.
I've spent the arvo weeding and pottering in the garden and dog walking. Feels so good to be back out there and after the garden being ignored for months it's looking good
Will hopefully get back out tomorrow to continue
Omg Popeye that's so expensive and I agree, count imagine feeding a big family, the three of us is bad enough
Yummm to your loaf kiwi. I love lemon anything and we are lucky to have a great lemon tree like you
Steak for dinner here tonight. Got a great special at the mad butcher. Not sure what's going to be with it yet, but thinking maybe fried potatoes and salad
Thanks for the birthday ideas, im just really torn as I wanted it to be something special but I think a garden voucher might be the way to go, along with some of her fav choccies

Pizza in this house. Left over chook and roast veg with other stuff on home made flat breads. I had a craving for pizza so made my own. Long time since I made flatbreads, so they might be a bit chewy, but I will not complain to the cook...

Rid you know our Minister of Finance has a degree in English Lit, but nothing in finance or economics? Weird...

Well that sort of sums her up doesn't it. That is weird.

I changed my batter recipe and had a small piece of gurnard and a battered sausage. I added baking powder and some cornflour. And it was good. hung on better too.

Sorry, not. MrP Ill do it this way from now on.

I put my music on this morning and had the dishes done smartly.. Washing is in, lovely and dry smelling good.

I finished the rose and have started on the background of the daffodils.

Our Pak n save still has the seconds fruit stand. And a trolley of damaged stock. But you have to be early to get the marked down meat.
New World does marked down meat just about any time. Baking bananas often and they sometimes have a marked down trolley. But the chilled stuff milk etc seems to have stopped in the last few weeks.

I certainly wouldn't want to be feeding a large family. Its bad enough feeding me and a Madam Cat , who seems to be off meat at the mo. But she is eating bikkies and has plenty of water. So I just put a good teaspoonful of meat in the dish for her incase she wants it.

Right I hope to run into the brothers online then Ill play scrabble. I might put dirty dancing on later since there isnt anything Im interested in on TV tonight

morning ladies Smile It must be fine, the kids next door are outside already Heart

I missed seeing your post, Jan. And yesss, if ever we have an unexpected windfall $$$ wise, a silk tour is definitely on the cards.

omggg $90 for a leg of lamb??!!! Ridiculous. Who on earth is going to pay that. They would be better to lower the price and have more people buy than have it sitting there not being bought. I've noticed we've been changing brands to cheaper (and sometimes nicer!) brands to keep supermarket prices down. Cracker Jack has been a favourite haunt for quite a while now. I go there first and then the supermarket. Manuka honey (all right, it was grainy but still good) was $8 and two packets of Red Seal herbal tea for $2.50. A year or so back they had Twinings Earl Grey loose leaf for $2 a packet. I bought that by the dozen lol.

Our daughter is here and heads back home today with a pile of stuff we have had put aside for her. Will be good to have that all gone and have some useable space back. When you live in a small home, space is premium.

Yesterday I made a couple of individual chicken pies from the left-over roast chook, so dinner is sorted. Loads of vegies and chicken meat so very filling. MrK has requested one more steam pudding to 'see the winter out' lol so I'll make one later for the slow cooker.

The weeds are back. Looks like the spring/summer routine of weeding fortnightly is on the agenda again. One of the spinach plants has bolted. Yesterday morning it was fine, when I went out to pick spinach for dinner, it was all flowers and tall skinny stalks. So quick!

Washing machine has finished, I'm off to hang it all out while the sun is here and before anyone gets up. The Furry One has discovered our daughter is still sleeping and her bed is easier to jump on to Tongue

My pizza was yummy, lots of vege, a little chicken, and enough to cheese to glue it all together but not wake up the gallstones. Had enough to make a small one that will make a nice lunch munch today. The flatbread made excellent bases, so I shall write it out and add it to the colle tion for next time a pizza craving hits, seeing it was so quick and easy to make, no yeast required.

But there's a side note, I cut up a pineapple on Friday - some of that went on the pizzas - and put the base and the core out for the birds, but it seems our locals are not into such luscious treats. Maybe they don't recognise it as food, no one is interested...
